Gorky 17 in the shops, magazines and blogs!

Brussels, December 7, 2015Gorky 17

Since the initial show release at Amiga30.de in Neuss and the regular start of sales the week after, Gorky 17 for AmigaOS was very well received in the community and the press (Amiga Future #117). The well known AmigaOS dedicated blogger Epsilon recently published an article on Epsilon's Amiga blog about Gorky 17, which gives a great overview from unboxing over installation, first start and of course the game itself. A highly recommended read to everybody interested in Gorky 17!

Gorky 17  is a science-fiction strategy role-playing game originally developed by Metropolis Software House in 1999 and ported to AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition by Hyperion Entertainment. The AmigaOS version was released to the public first at Amiga30.de in Neuss at October 10, 2015 and is available for regular purchase from many Amiga dealers since October 19, 2015.

Gorky 17 release imminent

Brussels, October 3, 2015
Gorky 17

Hyperion Entertainment is very pleased to announce the imminent release of the long awaited adventure/strategy/RPG crossover game Gorky 17 originally by Metropolis Software House for AmigaOS! After changeful 12 years since its original announcement, the AmigaOS port of Gorky 17 became almost what was Duke Nukem Forever for the PC world. Yet, we made it in two years less ;)

In order to ensure the highest possible quality, Hyperion Entertainment commissioned Frank Menzel and Thomas Claus, who are well known for their original games for AmigaOS 4 under the Entwickler-X label, to stabilize, optimize, enhance and last not least to finalize the AmigaOS port of Gorky 17. The result of their work speaks for itself and shows their high level of professionalism, which allows us now to rightfully claim that the AmigaOS port of Gorky 17 represents the best version of Gorky 17 released on either platform ever!

Hyperion and Metropolis announce AmigaOS 4 version of Gorky 17

Leuven, Belgium. - December 25, 2003

Hyperion Entertainment and Metropolis Software have extended their existing license agreement for "Gorky 17", Metropolis´ critically acclaimed RPG/Strategy title, to cover not only Linux but also the upcoming AmigaOS 4.

Gorky 17 is a horror conspiracy game mixing elements of strategy and RPG gameplay. The player commands a small group of NATO soldiers who must reveal the mystery behind the sudden appearance of hybrid creatures in a small Polish city named Lubin. The city is being terrorized, the area is surrounded by NATO troops and media from all over the world, and the first group sent into the city disappears without a trace. The main hero of the story is the 40-year old soldier Cole Sullivan, a commando team member with extensive scientific knowledge. His team´s task: to explain the hybrids´ presence and to find the missing members of Group One. But that, of course, is just the beginning...

The AmigaOS 4.0 port is already well under way as can be seen on the screenshots page.

The Amiga and Linux ports are being carried out by Steven Fuller and Joe Tennies who are recent "converts" to the Amiga platform after they recently joined the Hyperion Entertainment game development team.

Steven Fuller and Joe Tennies have an impressive track-record in the field of Linux (gaming) related development.
